Can retail experience help a care application?

Answer from the ResumeStation team

Yes. Helping customers, staying calm when someone is upset and working reliably with a team can all give you useful examples. Explain how those skills would help in care. You don’t need to make retail experience sound like clinical work.

General career information. Immigration and employment circumstances vary; use current official guidance and qualified advice for individual decisions. Never share confidential care records here.

What would you add?

Keep it kind and stick to what you know. Leave out residents’ details, private documents, contact details and allegations that identify someone. Replies reflect members’ experiences, not verified professional advice. Posts use a member alias and appear before moderation. For urgent help, use the appropriate emergency or safeguarding service.
