How do I explain an employment gap?

A short, honest explanation is enough when an employer asks. You can mention study, caring responsibilities or time away from work without sharing private details. Check whether the application form asks for a full employment history.

What would you add?

Keep it kind and stick to what you know. Leave out residents’ details, private documents, contact details and allegations that identify someone.
