How do I present a career change?

Explain briefly why you want to move into care, then give examples of skills you already use. Communication, reliability and handling difficult situations can be relevant. Include any preparation or training you’ve actually completed.

What would you add?

Keep it kind and stick to what you know. Leave out residents’ details, private documents, contact details and allegations that identify someone. Replies reflect members’ experiences, not verified professional advice. Posts use a member alias and appear before moderation. For urgent help, use the appropriate emergency or safeguarding service.
